Monday morning June 1,2026. Watched three Tiger games over the weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Tigers lost all three games. They lost Friday by a score of 4 to 3. Saturday's game was lost 7 to 1 and Sunday's game was lost 4 to 3 in ten innings. You can quickly see the Tigers are not scoring many runs. I'm sure you are very aware the Detroit team is not having a good season.

The season is now two months old. The Tiger's have played sixty games. They still have 102 games to play in the regular season. The team is currently in last place in the central division. There is still time to turn things around, but it looks like it will be tough. The Tigers as of this morning have a record of 22 wins and 38 losses. That's a winning percentage of 367. That is not good! Did anyone expect the Tigers to have this type of season? I don't think so.

The Tiger team has lost 8 out of there last 10 games. They have a team batting average of 229. They are currently 11 1/2 games out of first place in the central division. Most of the starters are hitting in the low two hundreds. They actually had players in the starting line-up hitting below 200. I am not sure that is something I have seen in an entire life of watching this team.

They have had some injuries. Tarek Skubal their star pitcher has been out due to a need for arm surgery. Still not sure how soon he will be back in the line-up. His absence has left a big void in the pitching staff. This may be the causing some players to feel somewhat depressed without Tarek in the line-up. The Tigers brought back former great Justin Verlander to fill a spot on the pitching staff. Justin is now the oldest player in the majors at the age of 43. He has had some hip issues since first time out and has not been in a game since. His absence might also be causing some distress among the other players. There have been an assortment of the usual minor injuries that are common in baseball but weighing on the team.

The bottom line is the hitters are not hitting, the pitchers are either out with injuries or just not pitching well. The team seems lackluster. and at best mediocre.

I have a couple of comments on the Tiger broadcast. The team this year can be seen on a new channel called Detroit Sports Net. Some games can be seen on Fox, FS1,TBS, and Apple T.V. Most of these games are not free unless you get a free trial offer. It is a little confusing. If you pay for Detroit Sports Net you will see most home games. But once in while a game will be on Apple TV. This requires another payment. These are two examples the games are costing money to watch but there still are plenty of commercials.

This is just my opinion, but I would like the local games shown on Detroit Sports Net to focus a little more on the action on the field. I think there are a little too many shots of a fan catching a foul ball and repeated over and over. I don't need to watch the fans texting or talking on a cell phone or whatever. I think the broadcasters are pretty good but concentrate on the game and i don't need the camera showing them eating snacks.

The season this has a long way to go. I think this team can still get back on track. Get motivated and out of the slump they have been in. Let's got Tigers! I will be watching.
