The Tigers lost 5 out there last 7 games. It was not a good week. They started the week by losing 2 out of 3 to the New York Yankees. The Houston Astros came to town and the Tigers only won one game out of four. The Tigers start the new week with a record of 35 wins
and 49 losses. That is a winning per-centage 0f 417. They are in fourth place 9 games behind the league leading Chicago White Sox.
This Tigers will start this week in New York. This will be a three game series in the Bronx. The first game is Monday night at 7:05. Tuesday will also be a night game starting at 7:05.They will finish the series on Wednesday July 1st at 1:35.
They will than move on to Texas for three games with the Rangers. Game one will be played at 8:05 on Thursday July 2 at 8:05. They will play on Saturday 4 at 4:05 and finish the series on Sunday July 5, 2026 at 3:30.
The Tigers showed a few sparks of life last week but for the most part lacked much excitement. Their offense could use a few players with some better averages. Pitching has not been as good as was expected. Verlander has only pitched once and remains on the disabled list. Tarik Subal is back after his arm surgery but does seem quite up to the back to back award winning seasons he previously had. Jack Flaherty has had some control problems. They have had their share of injuries but that is to be expected. They should have had some players on the bench ready to step in for the injured players but basically that has not been the case.
A.J Hinch has been criticized for some of his moves, but he can only do so much with the talent he has on the team. It is up to the front office to provide him with the talent he needs.
A number of trades have been rumored. These will have to be done before the trading deadlines.
The Tigers are in a weak division. This means if they can perk up or make some decent trades they can still be in the race for a play-off spot this season. But things will have to change!
Have a good week everyone!
