I started my blog three months ago. I thought it would be a good time to share a little about myself and what led me to build this blog.

I was in the financial service field for many years. My wife taught school close to forty years. We both liked what we did. I retired about twelve years ago. I would have liked to have worked a few more years but it was not in the cards. My wife retired from teaching school fifteen years ago. She continued tutoring children with reading issues for ten more years.

I started taking a number of classes available at a number of senior citizens programs. I also spent a lot of time at the public library. I read a lot.

Six years ago, I came across a class in a catalogue from West Bloomfield. The class was called "creative writing for beginners". The class was held at the West Bloomfield Senior Citizens Center. I enrolled and began the class.

My wife always wanted to do some painting in watercolors. In 2020 she found a class for beginners at an art school. She enrolled and still attends today. She has become a good painter. Her work is displayed in our home. It has also been displayed in exhibits at the school she attends.

I guess you could say I am a writer, and she is an artist. My point is when you retire if you would like you can become something else.

We owned a nice home. It had two floors and was about three thousand feet. We always liked the house. We each had some health challenges in retirement. Two years ago, we decided to downsize. The house was becoming a lot to manage, mentally, physically and financially. A little more than a year ago we sold the house and moved to a smaller place. We are very happy with that decision. Again, my point is you have to make choices and act on them. Don't cling to the past.

I write essays. I am trying to express my thoughts and observations and share my memories.

I built my blog so I can share what I write with people who have similar interests and feelings.

We can't fight time. The older we get the quicker it moves. Take advantage of this time in your life. Embrace this period. Live in the present.

Thank You for reading my work. I hope you will stay with me. If you like my writing, PLEASE tell people you know about my blog!

Thank's again and good luck on your future journey!
