FAN MAIL

Regarding my recent essay called "It was a night game", a loyal reader wrote and ask me why I just did not go downtown and wander the streets at 12 years old until it was time to attend the 8:00 P.M. game only eight hours later.

Following the game at about 10:30 I could have walked the quarter mile to the bus stop and hoped the busses were still running that late. If the busses were still running that time of night, I could have rode home through the streets of Detroit till about mid-night.

I would like to thank the very loyal reader for her suggestion. I will keep it in mind the next time something like that happens to me again.
