MONDAY MORNING TIGER TALK

I have a couple of comments this morning about the Detroit Tigers broadcasts. I like all the commentators. I think they are doing a good job covering the Tiger games. The Tigers started broadcasting this season on a new network. There are two things about the presentation since the network change that I think could improve.
Sometime ago the world started a transition from being "dressed up" when people went to work to a casual dress code. First, it was casual Friday's. This was followed by business casual, then it became just casual and wear whatever you want when you want. In my opinion not a great trend.
This season on the new network the Tiger broadcasters have gone to wearing some type of polo shirt with a Tiger logo on it everyday. The shirts are different for each game but all the commentator's wear matching shirts.
I do not think this is a good look. These are professional T.V. personalities, covering major league baseball on television. They can do better than wear shirts that look like they are being handed out to them by whoever has this job when they get to the stadium.
They are on television. People notice. They should look sharp be polished and professional. The current dress code is not projecting that image.
My second comment about the telecast this season is that it seems to me the cameras are spending too much time showing things other than the actual game. Fans watch these games because they like baseball and are rooting for the team they like best to win. I think a lot of time is being spent showing people in the seats, the broadcast booth and even the dugout snacking or drinking a beverage. This is not what most baseball fans care to see when they sit down to watch a game at night. They want to see the action on the field. Keep the cameras on the field and follow the players and action on the baseball field. Find ways to show what is happening on the playing field more interesting and exciting.
The Tigers are starting the week with a record of 50 wins and 56 losses. That is a winning percentage 472. They are now 6 games behind the leader in the central division. Last week they did pretty good winning four out of seven games. There is 56 games left to play in the regular season. I think it usually takes between 85 to 90 wins to get a playoff spot. This means they have to win 35 to 40 of the remaining games, It can be done but they have to play good baseball every day
If the Tigers are trying to make any trades that might help them in the stretch they have to be done by August 3,2026 at 6:00P.M.
